About TED and TEDx

TED (Technology, Entertainment & Design) is an annual conference held in Vancouver (Canada) that brings together the brightest minds of our generation to share their ideas with a curated audience of open-minded individuals. Based on any number of subjects, these “TED talks”, are then made available online for free, so that their ideas may spread throughout the world.

TEDx (x=independently organized TED event) was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading”. The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to create TED-like experiences locally through their own event. Since the program’s creation, more than 10.000 TEDx events have spread throughout the world in places like Teherán, Sydney, Tokio and, of course, Vitoria-Gasteiz.

As a complement to the annual TEDx event, there are the TEDxAlmendraMedievalSalon events, shorter and with less speakers. Salon events focus on a single topic, and their main feature is that they might spark debate around a certain issue that interests the local community. Attendees actively participate in these events.

TEDxAlmendraMedieval is an independent TEDx event, operated under license from TED.
